I use a variety of equipment and software to capture the best possible audio quality, but you don't have to record with me. Send me your tracks, and I'll mix and/or master them.
I'll start by mixing the song, EP, or album according to your initial suggestions. I'll use EQ to shape the tone of the tracks, compression to control the dynamic range, reverb and delay to create depth or distance, and limiting to bring the overall mix up to competitive levels. I might even use saturation, distortion, or a multi-band compressor if the song calls for it. Then I'll make up to two revisions based on your feedback of the original mix and send you both .mp3 and .wav versions of the final mix(es).
Want to record?
I can record up to two channels simultaneously, so you'll want to consider midi as an option either in substitution of--or in addition to--your acoustic kit.
Bring your own amp or use one of Logic Pro X's simulators.
Bring your own amp or use one of Logic Pro X's simulators. I also have a couple of my own amps available for use.
We have lots of options from miking to midi, depending on the keyboard. I own a midi controller and an old synth available for use.
Rock and hip-hop artists will want to consider the durable SM57, while pop and folk singers will probably prefer the clarity of the Rode NT1 or the MXL 990.
I've recorded other instruments as well, including djembe, acoustic piano, and harmonica. I'm open to suggestions.
